Golden Fleece Australian Eco-Wool is a truly local yarn - grown, spun and dyed on Australian soil with deep care for the land, the animals, and the artisans who bring it to life.
Because it’s natural, grippy and beautifully easy to work with, this wool is perfect for kids’ first knitting projects, finger-knitting, and beginning makers of all ages. Soft on little hands, steady on the needles — it’s a gentle yarn to learn with.
Sourced from non-mulesed sheep raised on Australian farms, this wool begins as fibre cared for thoughtfully from the very start. After shearing, it’s washed using eco-friendly detergents, then spun and dyed in small regional mills using traditional methods that support local makers and rural communities.
Unlike superwash yarns, Golden Fleece is fully natural -
• No chlorine treatments
• No polymer coatings
• No harsh altering of the fibre
The result is a soft, honest wool that feels grounding in the hands and beautiful on the needles - ideal for garments, accessories, weaving, and slow craft projects of all kinds.
