The Beam Beanie is a soft, stretchy rolled-brim hat, knit in the round from the bottom up. There’s no ribbing — the brim naturally curls as you go. It’s the kind of knit you can pick up and finish in an afternoon, making it perfect for gifts or slow weekend making.
It’s written across nine sizes from newborn to adult and designed for bulky yarn (around 12-14ply), making it a cosy, instant-gratification knit with endless colour potential.
You’ll need:
- Needles: 8mm circular needles (60cm). You can find our recommended needles here .
- Yarn: Bulky weight yarn (around 12–14ply — anything in the chunky/Bulky range works). Pair it with our wool here or our Baby Alpaca .
- Gauge / Tension: 12 stitches × 18 rows = 10cm in stockinette stitch.
- Skill Level: Beginner-friendly — soothing, satisfying, and a beautiful pattern to return to again and again.
