What you'll need
This is the course only. You'll need to have (or source) the following before you begin:
- 10ply / Worsted Weight cotton or 8ply / DK Weight Wool ~ suitable for the Mama Crop
- 6 mm circular needles (100cm cable) for sizes XS – 2XL. (120cm cable) for 3XL
- Tapestry needle
- Scrap yarn
- Scissors
- Measuring tape
- Stitch markers
- 5–5.5mm crochet hook (optional ~ for the trim detail)

I chose to do Sundri’s knitting course not because I had plenty of time on my hands, but because I didn’t. Between work and family commitments, I needed something that would help me decompress at the end of the day without endlessly scrolling social media.
The last time I knitted was as a child, when my mother would cast on and off for me. I never really knew how to follow a pattern or make an actual garment. I was tempted to just use YouTube tutorials, but I’m so glad I made the small investment in this course instead.
Caroline and Elliot have created such a thorough and thoughtfully structured course, with step-by-step videos that make everything feel achievable. The Facebook support group is also fantastic — any difficulties or uncertainties are answered quickly, so you don’t lose momentum or confidence while working on your project.
I honestly didn’t have huge expectations going in. I simply wanted to enjoy the process and reconnect with the memories of my mother and both my grandmothers, who all knitted, crocheted, and embroidered. I looked forward each evening to unwinding with the gentle clicks of my knitting needles.
What surprised me most was how proud and excited I became about what I could actually create. I’m absolutely thrilled with my new Mama Crop Top and already excited to start my next project.
